How to save?

I love the game, if you are still unsure about getting it, GET IT!
I do have one question; how do you save? I've played for ~1 hour and then I quited, and I had to start all over again. How does one save the progress?

It saves automatically. If you had to start all over again, there must be a problem with the configuration or something. Not sure how to resolve it, though. >.>;

Maybe your OS isn't granting the program editing permission to the save location. If that's the case, then running it as admin might cover it. ...that's about the only thing I can think of, though.

Exact same problem for me. Played 1 hour on one computer. Quit, started the game on another computer and it was as if I had never played it. Progress not saved. I'm sorry to say it but this is a deal breaker.

This game isn't compatible with Steam Cloud... Just an FYI.

Just copy your save manually. Gosh, it's not a hard concept: "What you have on PC A, is not on PC B unless you've put it there".

That is true, but that's why steam invented 'Steam cloud' so your savegames are downloaded on PC B.

I prefer the term "Valve invented". Anyway, SteamCloud is nice, but it's not used by all games out there.

My game also doesn't save. Have you known how to fix it?

I just ran into this problem today as I was recording. I exited the game a week ago, came back (on the same computer) and my progress was gone. Exited today (after making much MORE progress) and attempted to play again; progress gone. I will attempt to run it as admin in the future if that's the problem. But a manual save would be appreciated

The game saves in it's own folder. By default. Steam is installed into your Program Files folder where your user account doesn't have write privileges. So idea: give yourself write privileges in the game folder.

if you are exiting the game by force shutting it down, like with alt+f4 (or alt+tab, right click and close) i do not think it will auto-save. you need to exit the game by pressing escape so you are in the main black chamber, then hold down escape again and the game with save/exit.

Go to your game save file (<pathtogame>/Binaries/Win32/SavedGame.bin) and make sure it's not set to Read Only. Right-click, go to properties, and uncheck "read only" at the bottom. Mine was for some reason and I could not save the game, but after unchecking this it worked fine.
