That should give you a good Health boost. If your Health remains Low, people will get sick as time goes on.
I.E focus hard on Water and Food at the beginning
The only time I run the game at x3 speed is when I'm waiting for something to build/finish, whatever. You can't treat a survival game like Sim City or Cities:Skylines.
Most of these issues contribute to user issue or RNG. You need to look at your panels to adjust to conditions.
This is interesting. I found the exact opposite. I couldn't stop my people breeding, and had strangers arriving all the time. I ended up with a population of more than 1,500. I was on normal difficulty playing campaign.
On what year?
Later in the game you can have too much population, and not enough space to accommodate them.
I booted up the game for the first time today, playing on normal. Yes im kinda always short on pop but only a handfull died so far. 1 from a fire, 2 from lightning hitting my soup kitchen and 1 in year 2... (from old age or something? i dunno).
I am playing on normal and taking it slow, make sure you lower/raise workforce when needed, don't overwork your workers and keep your storages well stocked. Keep your people healty because there is no way to heal em up for the first 4 cycles except lowering workforce.
Nothing wrong with balance if you ask me, yes it takes time but this is a slow game, not a race. Go too fast and you screw yourself over. Just hit Cycle 5 but i have to wait for pop increase before i can go any futher. Played almost 8 hours, so thats for another day :)
