prop/decoration placement? also more animals?
stumbled upon this game last night, so stoaked!

but i noticed there's not much in terms of decoration...a few barrels and such maybe and afaik these are procedural? i'd love to place smaller details like broken down carts, old archery targets, boxes, bins, even like pieces of fruit or food like a bunch of apples under a tree...etc. is something like this planned?

also, so far i only noticed sheep and ducks as far as aniamls, are more planned?

Hello 👋 At the moment, the game indeed procedurally places props near windows, doors and gates. They are selected at random (+ based on context, such as if there is a wall it can align to, are there paths or grass, etc). We're currently already thinking of additional control for it, but that's not gonna come at launch. If you have tried the demo, then it's going to be a similar experience, just with more props.

We currently have 25 prop pieces in the full game (there's 9 in the demo), including some that were mentioned, like a basket of apples, benches, haystack, cart, and boxes full of other clutter, but yeah it's not 100s ^^ We're a pretty small team (Tom & I juggling most things) and our focus has been on the interaction between procedural elements.

Hope that answers your question!

I think the game could use a few little props. We don't need hundreds of clutter items when the procedural generation looks so good, but a few bits and bobs would be nice.

Maybe like a horse carriage, a wheelbarrow, picnic benches, cafe tables and chairs... Little things you'd use outdoors to say "This is a resturant or a stable, not another villa"

I'd also like wood swatches for walls, and thatch swatches for roofs.

I'd love some clutter for specific buildings too. Think medieval crafts. Smiths, stonemasons, cobblers, tanners, and the like.

I'd love to get some clutter, because I'm always a very detailed builder (Sims and stuff), and simply putting benches next to maybe a pond or something would do SOOOOOOO much to improve a build, or just being able to place lanterns on the floor without the pole on paths instead of only on bridges

Id love more decorative items, especially like little market stalls and canvases would really work, I'm loving the game so far and I can't wait for what else will be added :)

Yea I'll be passing on this then unless this game is 5$ maybe 10$ max not worth it just to build buildings place trees make some ponds & put down a few measly props I thought given everything there be loads of props & stuff...
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Oooh, sounds good that you've got ideas for props now.

I appreciate a small team can't do everything at once, of course.

im not saying the game is bad without these things or anything, the way everything works procedurally and how you can do complex things with simple controls and additions is INSANELY impressive to me, and i love it for that, but i'd like the option too for more control myself so i can really add things like wooden parts to structures or awnings or merchant stand type things, etc...

First off, I LOVE this game, so calming and cute but I would love to be able to add clutter and different props in random locations, like a bench near the water or just some random carts in different places.

you can spam click on windows / doors to change the clutter ( if you didn't know)

animal placement / pick up so we can put them in specific places ( totally not for meme potential). like a right click of mouse as left is for pets.
