Rotating Cylinders

I know you can rotate rectangular buildings but is there a way to rotate cylindrical buildings? I ask this because it'll make making round pavilions easier in lining up the pillars to entrances/exits of buildings/bridges.

I'm trying to do this also..

I have a round tower with wood trim that is off center. I want it as small as possible, so I don't want to expand it to move the wood.

How do I rotate this thing??

From what I can see when using the edit mode for the object, there is no way to rotate cylindrical building components.
