Steamdeck support?
I was really looking forward to this game. Been following it since I saw it (on tiktok? I think) So long ago. But only recently got a steamdeck this year. Haven't had it for long so I don't know all the ins and outs yet, but the download went great, super fast which was cool. But, now it can't get through the loading animation. I open the game and it freezes on a screen of greenish smoke? I can hear bugs chirping but nothing else.

I was really looking forward to this. 🙁😢 but I guess I'll just have to wait until steamdeck gets support?

Sorry to hear that! Hm, "green smoke" sounds strange, I'll take a note 🤔 (we've been only testing on Steam Deck using the beta channel). Having said that, we do not officially support Steam Deck yet. We will be looking into adding controller support and Steam Deck later!

I read on their Discord that the game doesn't support Wayland. I don't know if the Steamdeck uses Wayland or not. But as a temporary solution, you could download the Windows version and run the game via Proton?

How do I do that? 😆 I've only had it for like two months so I don't know how to manage everything yet lol

I don't know how it is on Steamdeck. But on Linux, you right click on the game, go to properties, and under compatibility, enable "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool"
This is the tool that lets you play Windows games on Linux. (Steamdeck runs on Linux)

Hope this helps! I had to do this on another game and it helped me

Edit:
I just checked, when you go to the game you should see a gear icon on the right side. You have to go there and then you will see the settings

Thanks for trying! For what it's worth, I just tried it on my Steam Deck both with and without Proton, and it worked fine, but I'm not sure what could be different between Steam Decks 😅 Fingers crossed it works for you, but if not, we'll try to reproduce the issue on our end and/or try chatting with Valve.

i tried with Linux and no dice. it popped with an issue bubble about crashes. I reported the issue like it asked, so maybe that will help?

Not sure if this is how it works, but I tried to take a screen shot of what happens when I load up the game on default.

Thanks for the screenshot! This might or might not work, but if something is up with our loading screen, you could skip it. In Steam's Properties for Tiny Glade, under "Launch Options" you can add "--skip-splash" (without the quotes). This will bypass the loading screen.

Lol it did work, as in skipping the intro screen. But now it's frozen on the next screen 😆 good lord

Oooooooo I don't know exactly what I did. But I clicked around a bit and then connected my keyboard instead of my controller and it loaded up. It looks like I can click on a few things. So I'm going to try playing for a minute and see how it goes!

I went to general in the settings and changed the resolution from default to native, but I'm not sure that was the problem. It was probably connecting my keyboard that helped

Oh that's super odd, what the heck haha! But great to hear, and thanks for mentioning! That'll help a lot with our bug hunt :)

mine froze on first load but I stuck it to latest Proton GE in compatibility settings and then ran fine

Literally nothing. Every Steam Deck has the exact same components except for a different size storage.

It either works on Steam Deck by hitting play or it doesn't.

Also why would you test it on the beta channel when you need to obviously get the game working on the current version of Proton which mostly all Steam Deck users use.
chill out. Its a demo
