I'd also love to know this. I was so pumped when I saw someone on youtube playing the demo and crushed when I saw Mac isn't currently supported.

I'm also eagerly awaiting any information about a Mac version.

I'm not proficient in Rust but I do know my way around Swift and MacOS, wonder if the devs would let me help out...

Hi! Unfortunately, Tiny Glade is not going on Mac when we launch 1.0. We've done some early tests of the game running on Mac, but it needs way more work. We think it might be doable as a post-launch update, if the PC launch goes well 🤞

Have you tried the game on Linux with Proton?

Disappointing how so many devs consider Mac a second class citizen. In today's world most games engine work on MacOS out of the box. Its like my money isn't good enough 😢 Doubly true as Linux is supported.

I've also been wondering this, been following news about this game for a while & was super excited for it. Hoping Mac is possible in the future! I'll be there for it buying it on day 1 if it is.

But maybe you can activated it on Geforce NOW? So people on Mac can stream play it? :) <3

I have Dorfromantik on the steam deck in my house, and it doesn't make sense to buy a similar-niche game that I can also only play on a device I have to compete with my housemates for, but if this comes out for Mac I can get it on my laptop and play it all the time! It looks so cute!

We would love to consider Mac a first-class citizen, but Apple is not friendly when it comes to supporting open standards, or developers in general 🥲 Tiny Glade runs on Linux using essentially the same code as on Windows, but Mac does not support Vulkan, so we will need special workarounds. We have our own engine, and we will need to write quite a bit of code for that, so just timing-wise we're forced to postpone any Mac efforts.

GeForce NOW might be an option though - we'll look into that.

MoltenVK is listed on the Vulkan org website as the MacOS API layer. Anyway, just saying with most modern games using a modern engine MacOS is supported out of the box. Writing your own engine, while technically amazing, seems odd in todays world. All that effort could well have been put into making Unity or Unreal or most any other engine do what you needed it to do :-/ As for open standards or developers in general is a copout, millions of developers and apps are supported by Apple just fine.

If an when MacOS support comes out I'll try the game (as will many of the others who are looking for Mac support based on the numerous threads I've seen). Until then not much any of us can do beside make noise to prove that Mac support isn't a waste of time.

We've tried MoltenVK, and got a build running on an M1 MacBook Pro. It partially worked, but had many graphical glitches that will be painful to work around. It's not a simple "plug in Molten, have fun" situation.

Making Unreal or Unity do what we want would have been a ton of work, and possibly delayed the entire game. Those engines might be great for certain types of games, but they aren't a good fit for ours.

Also, how is relying on open standards a cop-out? If anything, "you can use our own APIs" is a cop-out. If Apple were friendly to cross-platform applications, they would support those open standards instead of bullying developers into using their own APIs.

I'd love to get the game into your hands, and I'm not saying that Mac is a waste of time, but it's not as high a priority as shipping the game on PC. If it were easier to do this, we would have done it - as we did with Linux, but the cost of supporting Mac is much higher.

I Understand, but please dont bring the MacOS Support not 2 Years after Release

Came here to add my voice to those requesting a Mac version.

I'm ok if it's shortly after launch. I would be slightly annoyed if it's a year later.

+1 for a Mac version.
