YOU NEVER FIGHT DAMIAN!!! WTF? I haven't beaten Divine Divinity or Beyond Divinity, but do you ever actually get to fight Damian in either of those games? Will you be able to fight in him Divinity: Original Sin?

Divinity Original Sin is set before Divine Divinity, so Damian doesn't exist yet (he was a baby during the time Divine Divinity is set). Divinity 3 (whatever it is called) should finish off the DD, BD, D2 story arc with Damian and the Divine One.

Divinity Original Sin deals with the events leading into DD's backstory (the game comes with a pdf novella describing a couple previous attempts by the Lord of Chaos to return to / take over Rivellon).
Is Damian the main force of evil in DD and BD? I played roughly halfway through DD about 8 years ago so I don't really remember the story much. I have both DD and BD, are they worth a play sometime? Overall I liked Divinity II (particularly the ability to build my character however I wanted and a somewhat open world), I was just disappointed that I never got to fight Damian.

Larian Studios already has plans to make another Divinity game to finish off the Damian storyline?

I'm pretty sure that I'm going to get Original Sin to play with a friend. We are both huge Baldur's Gate fans and Original Sin is sounding pretty good.

Damian is connected to the main force of evil in DD. In the BD novella (concerning the 20 years between DD and BD), Damian grows up, turns evil and is banished to another realm. In BD a follower of the Divine One from DD is pulled by a demon into the same realm where Damian was banished, and sees the results of his actions there (war, genocide, etc), but the goal of the game is to get back to Rivellon, rather than confront Damian (it was more of a side story than a continuation of DD).
Some of the 'history of' series of books in Divinity 2 summarized the main plot points of DD and BD.

I think DD and BD would be worth playing through, but that depends on why you stopped playing DD. If you liked DD there is a fair chance you will think BD is at least ok, but if not, BD is unlikely to fair better (I liked BD almost as much as DD, and it did do a couple things better).

Larian has confirmed there will be another game to finish off the story arc with Damian, but that is all (no time frame or indication if it could be one of their next projects, etc). I hope they will keep going with the dragon knight concept, as well.
