As for QTE, I think a mix of the two is where it works. Even then I don't care for it much, myself, but it doesn't ruin my experience this way. Kind of like in the God of War games, when you tap a button to finish off a boss or enemy after you fight them normally.
JUST QTE, though... like in Shadow of Mordor at the final boss? Absolutely unacceptable. Still a great game, though.
I knew if I expected this to be like Dark Souls I would be disappointed, but it's still a very good game. It's just a bit different. It seems to be very underrated as Divinity 2 is one of the best RPGs I've ever played.
The dragon fighting is mostly balanced IMO, but there are 2 rage inducing segments. I won't go into specifics in case it's a spoiler, but you'll know it when you get there. It's not just the difficulty, but also the lack of objectives.
Also, the flying fortresses are a bit grindy. Since the base game (not the DLC) has no respawning enemies AFAIK, I view them more as farming areas than required parts of the game.
There are 3 places you can either trigger opponents to spawn (in Broken Valley during the mirror room test in Maxos temple, there is a barrel that spawns 3 opponents each time it is opened and the fjords in Keara's headquarters, trying to open the door to the inner headquarters without correctly solving the statue name puzzle will spawn opponents throughout the headquarters) or delay doing something to stop respawning (Aleroth during the last part of the section to close the rifts, you can let opponents attack Zandalor so he keeps restarting the spell.).
These are all relatively weak opponents, though, with little experience if you are not clearing groups at a time (WotR + splitting arrows, explosive arrows, fireballs, etc). The easiest place to get a lot of opponents is the one in the fjords (one person reported saving, then spawning so many opponents that game performance dropped significantly and there was a risk of crashing, then clearing them out with AOE damage). However, that is relatively close to the add-on section of the game, so unless you just want to top off your experience to level, you might as well wait until there are stronger opponents that can respawn, for a lot more experience, to do any grinding (though that shouldn't be necessary).
If it was the three skellies that spawned when you picked up a key to open a door it was because you jumped up a cliff that you were no meant to. if you followed the path you would have found the battles MUCH easier.
Some ranged attacks have a slight homing effect, some do not. If you bought the original release of Ego Draconis, this effect was reduced in the Dragon Knight Saga (and so the Developer's Cut).
In DKS / D2:DC, mid to long range you should generally have enough time to sidestep ranged attacks directed at you, if you see them coming. Playing a ranger in DKS, other archers weren't a problem except early in the game (especially when using poisoned arrows, or in larger groups of mixed ranged and melee opponents).
Armor designs were good, i never thought that it needed to be better.
Sound-track was great loved listening to it.
Quests were interesting especially this one roflmao https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSRcfOgLwaA
I'm just going to wait until I build my PC. No rush.
I'll wait it out. No rush.
