TAIMANIN RPG Extasy

main story chapters
I thought this game was older than AT and had twice as many chapters in the main campaign yet the steam version seems to stop at chapter 8. I have a bad feeling this is yet another thing walled off behind the vip system. There are already multiple quality of life features than need to be added to this game before I would even consider dropping a single dime. I can only ask the forums cause the game explains next to nothing.

This game is based on the older JP DMM game which is up to its story chapter 64 and just celebrated its 5th year anniversary,

This version is almost exactly five years behind in story/events. They should release chapter 9 around end of JANUARY if it follows the schedule of the JP DMM game. Events last two weeks, so the next event starts around the 15th November when the current one ends.

Though it is behind by five years to the JP DMM counter part it's based on, it has features not even in the DMM game; PVP/Arena- currently broken, Guilds- currently buggy so members can't join. A skill tree with command skills that give fumma (who you play) abilities to use battle skills and bonus perks- this system works. A battle pass that has a free and paid version, missions in the JP version that would have given crystals/standard rewards, give battle pass points towards the pass, that in turn then gives rewards.

The VIP system is also new but locks some of the QOL features the base DMM version has for free and new features, (auto-repeat,guilds) but none of the story, current running events are locked behind it. At higher levels the VIP expands your in game perks, x2 then x3 AP use on quests that give that back in quest rewards, an additional VIP shop, extra side dispatches, ability to add more friends, and other in-game rewards, to the mid-higher tiers giving a daily free premium gacha pull, and the very highest a free 11-gacha pull monthly. You can gain VIP for free each new day login, which increase in streaks for consecutive login, but spending tops your VIP points quicker in the short term.

Other differences are Team Formations that give teams perk based on using those team setups, but all except the base one given is paid for.
It also has some mechanics ahead of the time compared to when they were introduced in the DMM version on release (Blooming, taking a character beyond max level stats).

There are other differences but these are some of the main ones.

But with these new features, Extasy has many bugs and UI issues that were not present in the DMM game, mainly due to these additional feature changes. A change of Crystals value, so you need 50 crystals per pull not 5 compared to the the JP DMM game. Not all rewards reflect this x10 difference and some still give 1 crystal, but most do.
Also they switched blue and green unit types around for no real reason. Trust on units goes up to 6 levels not 3, but now give crystal rewards at these higher levels, nerfed from 1500 per unit down to 350 post steam launch.

The only reason I could imagine them rolling back story chapters is to limit available gems to the new audience. Just another short sighted "idea" in a port full of them. I played AT for a couple months before I felt it was worth putting any money into. Right now I don't know if this game is even going to survive a couple months.

They seem to be pacing it to match the release of the JP DMM game following its original schedule, they also did this with the English version of Taimanin Asagi Battle Arena.
So it will be about five years before it will have the current 63 story chapters, unless they choose to speed the release schedule up to catch up with the DMM game.

Due to this we know the next event coming on the 15th November is the Sakura Map event.
You can also find out upcoming banners and know which ones are worth pulling on, if you want to plan how you spend crystals.

You do get 350 crystals from each new character by raising the trust, the JP DMM game doesn't give anything for this in that regard. Also the amount of characters expand every two weeks: you get 1 new event character for free worth 350 crystals, then another three sets from the gacha banner for that event, if you get them by pulling on that current gacha banner. The amount of crystals from each story chapter is 150 per chapter.

You can wait and come back to the game later when the content has expanded, or to find out if the game has gone into EOS due to the controversy its executives have caused with the crystal debt fiasco and its player base. If you're being shrewd and still want to play, I'd say wait a year and comeback to see the state of the game, or just play casually for free and not spend any money.

Bypassing the wait on content was a large part of the reason I started this game. Even more so than the oooh nekked girls thing. I can't imagine starting any other live service game these days and being denied the current build. I don't care for battle royal or mmos but they are the best examples of games that have years worth of built up content. It should be obvious nobody would be interested in a rolled back version of such games. Bugs, a lack of a proper fullscreen function on a pc port, rolled back content is worse than those things to me. I missed out on the whole gem economy controversy but, ironically, having a stripped down version of the game is also devaluing the in game currency on top of what some of the other players are dealing with. For now building up my characters is enough reason for me to keep playing but who knows how long that will last. Even if we catch up to the current build in two years we'll still be another two years behind the "true" version of the game.
