This game is a cornerstone in the development of my fascination with walking sims. Feels like walking through a dream. If you like games like Edith Finch, or Dear Esther, check this one out. You may not love it, but it's worth the try

Proteus is an interesting experimental meditative walking simulator set in procedurally generated islands.
The game is literally just about walking and taking in the pixelated sights while making your way further in to travel to other islands. While moving through and looking at different things the music changes based on your location and what you're looking at.

It is less of a game and more of an experience while the length depends on you, either you just rush through or it can be a really long relaxing experience. It's definitely not for everyone, recommend picking up when on sale.

Not something you'd play very often but when you do, it is a hug from tranquility as if it's an old friend.

nice. simple. relaxing. wonderful sounds and music. but it's not really a game.

It's enjoyable but the menus are too small. They are impossible to read and there seems to be no option to resize it.

This game is my anxiety medication I swear. I played it a long time ago and rediscovered it a while ago. It is the most relaxing and thought-provoking yet mind-taming game ever. The lack of real goal/purpose takes away all the stress. Yes there is an ending, but there's no rush to get there.

A relaxing walking simulator with gorgeous visuals and a soothing soundtrack. The peace of just walking and exploring the islands is a thing of beauty. I highly recommend playing in the dark with headphones to really really get sucked in...also be stoned if you're into that.
