AMAZING!
My first play through of the game and I found some really awesome things! There was this huge (and I do mean huge) tree that generated and right across from it was this big hill with totem poles or something and somehow I made the sky turn red and then I saw the Northern lights and all of a sudden I was floating. Sounds maybe a little trippy but don't be fooled it was awesome! Want a goal? here's one: Make it through the four seasons. Want another goal? Here's another: Find all the exciting "events" that happen for example, the northern lights. What have you discovered?

Towards the "end game," while wandering near one of the ruined towers, you are momentarily boxed in by giant, jagged black shadows. trippy.

This game was amazing. really blew my mind, worth every penny. Sparafucil, what do you mean by "end game"? does that just happen after a certain amount of time?

Jagged, trippy, beautiful in its own sense. The random music notes playing are only random to a point, but still soothing and very nice to listen to. The pixelated landscape puts your imagination to work, which is only a good thing in this case. I loved the ending, albeit the whole journey felt very short. I am probaby a bit jaded, having played computer games for longer than I can remember, but the music in this game almost reminds me of the brilliant, experimental composer Arne Nordheim.

It is a pretty brave move making something like this and then selling it on Steam. For what it's worth: I have no regrets for those less than €7 I spent on it. Not sure whether I will pick it up again, but I absolutely enjoyed the trip and I will look out for future projects from the developer. "Proteus" is definitely not for everyone; I find myself relaxing and slipping into a comfortable zen-state while navigating the mysterious island with the wonderful "nature sounds" evolving and following me around, always changing and pulsing with a slow rhythm. Others just want to pew-pew everything that moves. Kill, move, reload, kill. This is not it.

Try walking into the broken towers that make a funny noise when you get near them. If there's more than one on your island, something'll happen.

Visiting the stone circle at night durring Fall is pretty trippy.
