Are There Any Keyboard Players Here?

My first experience with football games was with a keyboard, leading me to prefer it for nearly 20 years. I find using a controller painful and can't adapt to it. In the past, for player vs. player matches, I opted for FIFA 16 and FIFA Online 3(an Asia version FIFA game), which were more keyboard-friendly, especially the latter, likely considering the large number of Asian players using keyboards. However, in the main FIFA series, keyboard optimization has regressed over the years, making me feel neglected and abandoned by EA.

Most players use controllers, as football games were originally designed for them, but being overlooked is disheartening. For example, in FIFA Online, executing a move was as simple as holding SHIFT and pressing the right arrow key twice. Easy. But in FIFA 24, to do the same, I need to juggle passing with my left hand and player movement with my right, then quickly press '6' on the numeric keypad twice before returning to the arrows. Is this even humanly possible?

Additionally, FIFA Online had separate key settings for offense and defense. For instance, 'X' could be set for passing in offense and secondary defense in defense. In the main FIFA series, if 'X' is set for passing, it can only be for calling the goalkeeper in defense, with no option to change it.

It's perplexing that games from the same company have better keyboard setups that aren't utilized in the main series, replaced instead with a less intuitive system that can't be customized. From what I've seen in various forums, nearly all keyboard players complain about EA's neglect in the main FIFA series, while FIFA Online remains keyboard-friendly, which is frustrating.

Do you face similar issues? How can we make EA realize the need to optimize for keyboard players? Actually i think EA just need copy their code so they can fix this problem. We really want to enjoy the game just like you.

Maybe a late reply but I agree with you. EA needs to respect their keyboard users. I have tremendous problems with keyboard, I can't do any skill move because as you described they demand 4-5 simultaneous button pressing which is humanly impossible. Have you figured out any workarounds? I have reached Rivals Division 5 but I'm struggling to win any more so I gave us. All players do skill moves all the time, like we are in cirucs. In one game I had conceded 3 gorls by trivela shots! And in Online Seasons I have reached Division 2. I find Online Seasons more realistic, without overpowered players and with much less skill moves.

It's frustrating! Imagine me, playing with a 70% mechanical keyboard. I haven't Numpad and can' get my keeper dive in penalties among other difficulties i face...

I understand. It’s not that I don’t want to buy a controller. It’s that I have used to play with keyboard and it will be too difficult to switch.
