Chem Styles by Position

Background: So...I played this game a bit last year. Either didn't have this issue come up or didn't notice. I'm playing a 4-4-2 because reasons. There are a lot of L/R wings who can play L/R mid. Also, there are a good many L/R mids who can play wing. But it seems that players who are preferred L/R wings get to use the attacking chem styles while the preferred L/R mids get to use the midfield chem styles, based on the player not based on the position they are used for (and not both/either).

Question: If I use, let's say a winger (with hunter) as an L/R mid, does he get the bonuses? I just want to make sure they aren't lost in the position. Save question works in reverse, obviously.

if the player is out of position with the exclamation mark, then they won't have any chemistry, and therefore won't have the chem style bonus if thats what you mean. but if they are in position, then the chem style will boost whatever attribute the chem style boosts with atleast 1+ chemistry no matter what.
