Downloading ds4windows might help you - it remaps Xbox controls to PS.
This method works but the problem is I can't do this wirelessly with my DualSense, only works when plugged in. I tried it with the same instructions, the controller didn't respond to any of the inputs. Has anybody figured out how to do it?
This will make steam not try to handle the ps5 controller a let windows handles it.
Best way to check if this works it to open window Game Controllers in Windows and see if controller is responding. If its is not is because it didnt work. Turn controller off and on after changing the config.
Another way of testing is changing the color of the controller inside the steam, if when turned on it goes to your custom color instead of defaul blue, is because Steam is controlling your controller.
For me it works if I open the game through EA (which I have added as a non steam game).
xbox on, ps enabled and generic on.
Default settings on the properties of the game.
hi,
seems all these methods are very unstable.
i'm using a dualsense wirelessy with forza horizon for ages without sepcial settings.
but when it comes to fifa23 or fc24 i always seem to have random compatibility issues.
when i enable controller support, both games seem to work, but i usually have the xbox controller layout showing in those games.
i noticed that disabling controller support in the fifa23 settings often works, the controller works and the game shows the dualsense buttons. sometimes though, the buttons show fine but the game doesnt read any controller inputs.
for fc24 i never managed to get the dualsense buttons to show, but with controller support enabled at least it works and shows the xbox buttons.
apparenly, using a cable seems to make things a lot more compatible, but tbh that really sucks.
GTA or RDR are even worse. the only way to get them to work with the dualsense was to follow a youtube tutorial which stated to add the rockstar launcher manually to the library, then enable controller support for that and launch the launcher and not the games from within steam.
this works fine so far (plöaying gta 5 online this way).
i'll do some more testing and trying most likely, but i fear the only really reproducible results are wired setups... the hassle with wireless can get quite frustrating.
