Mouse/Keyboard overriding controller

Everytime I try to play, my mouse keeps taking my players running off the screen where my mouse is on my second monitor and I cannot control them with my controller, also all the menus are appearing with Keyboard shortcuts, I have tried unplugging my mouse and keyboard and still doesn't work

mine was normal until suddenly it juz uses the mouse..so buggy!?

Maybe when it says "press a button to start the game" use you controller. If not try to start the game in big picture mode on steam using the controller. If not try disconnecting keyboard. Just some ideas

And after that you are not allowed to tab out or move the mouse.
if it happens simply move the mouse cursor outside the page and you're done.
