Refresh Rate locked at 60Hz

Anyone else's like this? My laptop reaches higher frames than this and I want to match them. The refresh rate box in settings is currently greyed out at 60Hz and if anyone knows how to unlock it that would be great. My display is at 300Hz so I'm not sure why it's locked on 60Hz like this.

I’m having same problem I do have 300hz laptop and can’t change , I did use my 144 monitor and it did work I was able to set it 144hz, at my desktop settings, I can set my laptop to 60hz and 300 hz only so I think we can’t play above 144hz so idk

I believe that the refresh rate on the laptops screen is locked at 60hz for whatever reasoning, so you will have no issues using your external monitor at 144hz. I think the only way for us to overcome this issue is a fix from EA! I hope they don't forget us! I'm lucky I have my desktop hooked up to my OLED otherwise I'd be raging over the fact that I'm limited to 60hz and a pure lag fest.

I have the same issue, and I don't have any other screen so, I am locked at the 60Hz with a 165Hz laptop which would be at least decent to play on 120hz, but that wouldn't happen until EA gives us an update as I have tried every possible way. Unfortunately, I think we have no choice but to have patience brother the animation transitions specially regarding corners and yellow or red cards referee scenes laterally drops down between 3 to 20 fps which very weird, so suffering till the update is the only hope for me 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Hey dude, so I edited the ini.files to change the refresh rate from 60hz to 240hz, although it still states in game menus I'm locked at 60hz and still remains greyed out. I can confirm that after booting the game the ini.file still remains at 240hz and I gain great stability with no weird artifacting or extreme lag. I still have the issue present with fps dips taking corners etc but that's also present on my desktop build, so everything otherwise is now working without and real significant issue. Hope this helps anyone that may have been in a similar situation.

This worked for me on LAPTOP.

U need to edit file: (Documents/FC 24/fcsetup.ini)
simply change to REFRESH_RATE = 0 (default is REFRESH_RATE = 144 / 120/ 60) and save file.

Inside Nvidia Control Panel set: Preferred refresh rate: Highest available (add FC24 to Nvidia)
Then, in-game DON’T TOUCH refresh rate setting anytime.

Thanks mate but my Nvidia control panel does not have "Preferred refresh rate" or anything to do with refresh rate. Did you mean frame rate?

I believe its about the game [[[= i have tried it both on desktop and laptop, only my laptop got locked at 60hz. After all, its an ea game guys.

Does anyone know how to fix the freezes that appear for 5 seconds after corner kicks, either when you exit the menu, or in my case, when you reach the enemy goal

I have found a solution:

Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D settings > Program Settings > Find and add fc24 > scroll down in the options till you see "PREFFERED REFRESH RATE" and choose "Highest Value". After doing this, my refresh rate became smoother as well as removed the stutters at appear randomly, however i felt that the FPS was still low somehow so i set the max fps rate to 120 in Nvidia control panel, and now the game feels so much better.

⚠️BUT⚠️ After adjusting the FPS rate in Nvidia Control Panel, the game menu and cut-scenes became laggy. The gameplay, however, is perfect, smooth and getting 120fps.
So, experiment this Max fps as well as refresh rate value and find the best option for yourself

BTW I play it through epic games not steam (if it makes any difference). You could also try using some launch options for steam, here's the steam official support for "Setting Game Launch Options"
