Real Coop?

Hello all , i just buy the game game for my girlfriend to play a coop city but it seem the only option allowed is forced to be in split screen , is there any possibility she can join me in fullscreen with her Character?

Hi there! Split screen is the only option now (either with local co-op or Steam Remote Play), but we're working on what full co-op will look like for next year!

Awesome!!! Thanks for the return!! Because i had play a bit with my girlfriend on the steam deck and she was confused a bit , and most importantly she had not a proper tutorial on "his" part of the screen and was pretty lost on what to do. But very cool if it's in the work!! And keep up the good work the game has some big potential and in his state already very polsihed!!!

This might sound snarky.. Its really not meant that way. Simply curious. What was the reason for going with split screen co-op to start? I can see a few advantages, But they are limited. As the world got better at online, the world became the customer. Heck in Dinkum alone i had one co-op island that included people from 3 different countries. Its fairly routine now days. Split screen seems to be a relic of a slightly distant time.

It's a LOT of work to do full online multiplayer! Local / split-screen helped us figure out a lot of the bugs of co-op before we plan to make it work at scale. Also there is a very healthy contingent of players who really like split screen! So we wanted to be supporting both sides of things :)
