how do i get into two player mode?

just bought the game. But dont know how to enter split screen two player mode? I have tow controllers.

How To Play with Steam Remote Play!
1) Whoever wants to be the host, start the game and get to the point where you can move around. You are now Player 1.
2) Invite via Steam Remote Play (shift+tab to bring up your friends list). You can invite friends or click "invite anyone to play"
3) Wait for Player 2 to join and they can see your screen
4) Player 1 opens the Phone App (TAB or up on D pad) in Go-Go Town! and clicks "Phone Friends"
5) Player 1 presses 'Invite'
6) Player 2 presses a button or key on their end to join


How To Play with Local Co-op!
1) Whoever wants to be the host, start the game and get to the point where you can move around. You are Player 1!
2) Player 1 opens the in-game phone (TAB or up on D pad)
3) Player 1 opens the Friends app
4) Player 1 presses 'Invite'
5) Player 2 presses a button / key on their end.
