I looked through the wiki and I'm not sure it will make a significant difference... most items sell in the 10 - 15 coin range from what I can see.
I've got 7 fully stocked market stalls, max shops. But it just seems like I'm not getting tourists buying at a reasonable enough rate to sell all the stuff that I want to.
I'm making about 1800 coins per in-game day, or about 4,200 coins per real-world hour. That's triple what I had to be making to complete the Tier 1 challenge.
I calculate that at this rate, it's going to take me about 8.6 hours to earn the full 50k. That's more than what it took me to go from a brand new game file to #1 town.
Everything in the game up to this point has felt perfectly balanced... I was hitting challenge points just as I unlocked everything in the previous tier, and it all felt really good. But now it's like I've just hit a huge wall.
I would propose the following change to fix this:
- Remove the money cap during the game. I was constantly at 2,000/2,000 or max coins, so it won't make a difference for me. Let me start accumulating money toward the end-game earlier at least.
- Let me earn coin through exports. This could either be a little coin for each export, make half the exports give coin instead of tickets, or ideally have a separate export tab with 3 quests that offer coin next to the ticket ones.
- Maybe an upgrade to get trains every 2 hours instead of every 4 hours? Or some way to increase the amount of tourists available to buy stuff, or adjust the rate at which they buy stuff.
There is a slider if you go to the train station and manage it. IDK if you already have that on max though.
I just finally got my 50k and it says only 1.2% of players have the achievement, so I don't think my complaints are that unfounded haha.
(I was curious after reading this thread so I looked).
It's possible this will be fixed with more content to fill this period of time, but right now it drags on.
Though, I'm also wondering if I'm doing something wrong because my tourist are all happy, but they don't seem to be buying much or going to shops that are further from the train station. I've put points of interest, benches, water fountains, and all the likes along the way.
hmm... The only thing I can think of is if there's no path to those shops. I.E. the shops are on the other side of the street, and there's no crossroad to get to the other side.
Wait, you mean when they reduced the amount, you guys that did the 250k or whatever it was lost the achievement entirely? I had never heard of that. I just thought it would have carried over since the amount was significantly less and you guys already achieved it like 4/5
times over.
Ooohhh. Okay. Yah, I read somewhere about paying the agent after you get the achievement. (Back with the 250k since 50k was 1/4 or 1/5 of the total amount so it was kind of a significant amount to give up).
Question A: Poke around in the NW corner of the map.
Question B: What tool do you have available that clears up messes?
