Ai Workers Now Do Nothing
Hi. I am still having the issue of my forestry workers doing literally nothing. At first, when I loaded into the game after the update, they were working but now, after having played for 4 hours straight (in fact, for about 3 hours straight), the workers literally do nothing. They don't cut trees, forage gonuts, forage fluff or put anything on to be crafted. It's quite frustrating as my shops have no fabric unless I harvest and craft it for them and no wood products are being made.

You are ok to feel frustrated. I totally get it

So just to confirm a couple of things
1) any tools they need are in the zone. If dropped outside the zone they don't fetch them (I appreciate forage doesn't require tools)
2) your storage is placed inside the zone - of it's outside the wood markers they won't use it
3) if you have locked storage, you have storage for fluff & fabric
4) you have room in your bins

Their basic behaviour is that they won't pick up an item if there isn't space, now.

This is storage space, not machine space. So you might have an empty table saw that could produce items, but as there is no storage space, they do not stock machines to full.

Not sure if any of the above is what you are seeing. If not, do please submit a bug with F8/Feedback and we'll look into it!!

Worse is they don’t use the available open bins and dump everything on the ground, littering. My other busier farm with cows/chicken/plants now have fruits and veggies under objects like stalls and bins! It’s going to be messy farm areas if this is the new AI fix. Folks with OCD will HATE this (aka me lol).

I also keep everything farm tools/machines and bins inside the farm borders.

I will send feedback but just know the feedback open text can bork on Steam Deck. I can’t type anything, I got it work once or twice but zero virtual keyboard inputs. So I just send it blank marked bug with injure sloth.

Hard to take pics of the animal barn farm because dingleberries were under cow stalls 😂

I prepared for this update fyi yesterday. I did a lot of cleanup and helped AI to watch their patterns from then to now. They defo work harder but they litter more often, grab materials when not needed and then put them back on the bins. I added more locked bin for my miners but he just goes in harvest refined mana and dumps it on the ground outside infront of the Mayor! How rude :sad_seagull:

I also ran over and leaf blower that courier over and over :sad_seagull: He ran half way off the platform then ran back and took more breaks :sad_seagull:

Do I have to have the current save playing then menu and feedback? Or does each feedback send all save files? I have being sending it from main menu. Idk how it works I’m sorry :sad_seagull:

Both Chum and Baldo won’t touch the crab catchers even when I put it down now. Baldo making protein when it’s already full. So he keeps fishing and unable to carry horn fish and leaves a mess, he hasn’t dropped the proteins yet.

AI are randomly picking up items in bins then placing them back. Not the juggling items in the air bug like before. They pick it up as if they need it take a step then turn around and put it back.

I went inside my mining cave and there was so much refined mana on the ground….. and again I have tons of open bins. The AI just litter now nonstop. Even with just one worker per farm, it now looks like dumping grounds :sad_seagull:

Hey after watching my AI workers all day after the update, if car and leaf blowers don’t work for forest, take machine produced items from one of their full bins. They will start working again for a brief moment depending on how full your assigned locked large bins are. Once the task is done they will start running around like headless chickens looking for work to do. I noticed they slowly start to ignore empty unlocked bins and Storage Area bins. This is for the miner solution I found as well.

For animal/plant farm they just don’t stop, ever. Fish farm they fish so much often hardly touching the crab catchers unless I lower it down first. The fishers just walk around fishing and making protein nonstop on mine, and some sausages. They fish and drop more horn fishes now.

The couriers drop materials if you put a blue print structure down in build mode and quickly delete it before they deliver the mats. But they do keep working all other deliveries.

The maintenance cleaning crew still very much idle after a bit and have one even followed me around just to give me a random wave. Running them over when they are idle is a 50/50 chance they’ll work again.

I will double check about the storage as that may be part of the issue. However, all the tools are inside the area. Thank you for the suggestions :)

I have the same problem with the fishermen. There are fish scattered everywhere. The lobsters are never available for that exact reason, cos the bins are full of fish. Also, the crabs are more common than the lobster so I have a massive storage bin just full of crabs.

The forestry issues seem to be unique to me. None of the suggestions made are what is wrong with mine. They just simply won't work. I clear out machines of product, I've bumped them, I have unlocked, empty bins. I'm going to double check their positioning but otherwise its fine.
