This would be a big bonus for decorating.

I’d like everything to be rotatable. All about the aesthetics for some of us 👩‍🎨🤌

We do hear you (and others!) on this, but unfortunately this is something that brings a lot of other problems to the table that would negatively impact the game 😭
Sorry if this answer gets long, but I wanted to properly take the time to lay it all out 😅

We rely on forwards facing buildings (and some other things like makers and stalls) to allow for clear visibility and flow of workers, game state, inventories, and pathing for AI - these aren't impossible issues to resolve, but we leverage the gains we get to make the game easier to play, and allow a lot more happening in the game world.

We realise it seems like a simple request too - but the reality is it's quite a fundamental change to a lot of art, systems, and how we ask the player to interact with the game world. There's also a significant impact it has on performance as we're able to more tightly control what's drawn on screen.

We agree it'd be awesome to have the freedom to rotate them, but we feel it's a concession that's been very worthwhile for an overall better game experience!

Now having said all that, there's some which may be possible to still consider - npc houses for instance, which would definitely have a good impact on town layouts!

Thanks for your explanation . Being able to rotate NPC houses will definitely be an improvement. I like to place buildings in my games, in the shape of an L , so I can make and decorate a courtyard in the middle.
