Haven't seen this at all. The people who made this one are *not* the same people who made the previous one. Pretty much means that nothing is going to be the same. Definitely means I'm not buying it cause the Demo is already not doing well.

Huh interesting news, I really liked WoL1... I won't write off the sequel just yet but this does dampen my excitement a little. Let's see how it turns out

Honestly I loved Dead Mage's Children of Morta (it initiated me into the Rogue-lite/like genre). Also the original Devs consulted on this game - so there was some involvement. But so far feeling 'meh' about the demo. The gameplay can be tweaked before full release with community feedback but I feel like the over the top "trying too hard" comedy writing may be too late to revamp.

Yeah the whole announcer full on "This is a spectacle sport" thing kinda grates on me. I loved the original for how the vibe of it being exactly what I'd think a "Wizard Games" celebration trial to be.
This just feels like any boring sport where the announcer has to yell at me how cool ♥♥♥♥ is so that I know that ♥♥♥♥ is indeed cool and not a waste of my time.

I *love* Children of Morta. It shows these devs can create something heartfelt and skilful. It literally helped me connect more with a family member. The oppressive setting and story still ended up being one of heroism and positivity.

I hated WOL1, there was no narrative to draw me in and i found the gameplay hard to read.

So here I am getting steam notifications from Dead Mage from steam about them pivoting from what i liked to make a sequel of a game i didn't like *and* seemingly lose the soul of the IP they obtained in the process?

Not sure who they're hoping to appeal to :(
