How in gods name do I get past 6-2?
The ghouls or whatever they are take almost zero damage, is the intention to brute force it? Because that doesn't seem fun at all? I'm level 19, their attacks can't be parried and the immediate dodge counter hit STILL does only ONE damage each time. I'm really confused man, its like the game just stepped off a cliff difficulty wise.

What's even more puzzling is that, watching a play through of this same part of the game I found that my levels have completely different layouts in his video? Did they change in the past 6 months?

Do I need to grind? Do I need to be higher level? Do I need my permanent damage stat to go up? Is there some mechanic I'm not aware of? I don't get it man I cannot for the life of me get past this stage.

Update: Completed the game without issue after being told about the heavy attack, thanks gracious commenter for that. Also, did another idiot thing and forgot there are TWO versions of this game's campaign, Classic is the one I chose. So that was the reason the lets play video differed. This whole experience has taught me one thing, to be less stupid.

THERE'S A CHARGE ATTACK!?

The tutorial mentions it I'm pretty sure. If you hold your attack button down you will see it. You don't have to perfect time it or anything. You can also "trade" with some enemies that are about to attack, and if you hit first the attack beats them out. Dunno if that is intentional, I just found a way to do it and thought it was cool.

yeah I have been doing the "stun" attack where enemies (shielded ones usually) lower their guard when preparing to attack, frees up a sizeable window for you to do damage and stun lock them. Man, I must've just forgot completely, I barely listen to tutorials and then always stumble back to control guides like an idiot. Can't believe I missed it jesus, hopefully I can get past it now
I had the same problem for a little while, but then I played the tutorial again, wondering if I missed something and when it mentioned a charge attack, I figured it HAD to be that, so I tried it and whaddya know. It worked!

I committed to the exact same buffoonery and was reminded by the first reply that there is indeed a charge attack, no idea how I would've finished the game without it as its actually quite useful. I did end up finishing my classic run, quite a cool game

Yeah! I found the Charge Attack very useful for breaking between enemy defenses and killing tough enemies faster. I dunno if there is a "shield break" function in the game but sometimes if you really have to wait for a window of opportunity to hit a big enemy, you might as well charge up. It also works on those dark mages when they summon a bubble shield.
