coop mode?

Hi. Ten years later I can not make it work. I have a controller, I select in the options Mouse+WASD and Controller 1. Play. Only player 1 can play.
Update: ok. it is not controller 1, is controller 2. Not very intuitive considering that I have only one controller plugged in.

It uses an absolutely ancient controller library, and it's a miracle it still works at all! But I'm glad it did.
