Clearing the bomb room with the hostage

Can't work out how to get past this - opening the door causes the room to explode and is instant death. There is a "GO" sign indicating that I should go back downstairs but I can't work out what I need to do after that.

Any help is most appreciated.

Nah, the mobsters can just disarm the bomb once they're finished with their hostage. Either they weren't expecting Jacket to turn up or they prepared a deadly booby-trap for him as a last resort.

What would shooting a door do to it apart from putting holes in it?
