My extremely wicked overanalyzed throry about Don Juan (SPOILERS)
After finally finishing the puzzle and the entire game a few days ago (game crashing wouldn't let me), I came up with a theory about the Horse mask (also known as Don Juan, ya know what, let's just call it DJ). So as you know if you played the game, every part of the game starts with a conversation with your potential sub-concious. One of the characters is DJ. He (or is it a she? We'll get to that later) usually asks you questions like "do you really want to know who you are?" hinting it knows you, It's somewhat a part of you, or something very close to you that knows what you're doing and knows that you're not complete aware of your actions. Let's return to April the 25th, 1989. Our first encounter with the Hooker. She is there, laying on a table, expecting you to kill her ("finish what you've already started"?) , (or is it reversed psychology?) but you decide to pick her up and theoretically save her. She moves in with you, not any meaningful interactions meanwhile (maybe yes, and we don't know about? WELL STOP ASKING QUESTION WE WILL GET TO THAT LATER). Let's get back to DJ. DJ is portrayed as a female in the Hotline Miami posters, sits the same way as the Hooker does, and wears the same dress. Is Hooker really who we thought she was? Is the horse mask a metaphore for Sarah Jessica Parker being a hooker? Uhh, sorry, I mean, the hooker, pretending to be something it is actually not? Well, here is my overanalyzed theory about things. I think the Hooker is actually a part of the corporation and is like a snake in the grass. I think she cooperated with the Janitors and they were expecting Jacket to take the Hooker home. Hooker is suppoused to be some kind of invisible/unnoticeable superviser, that will make sure everything is done right and that Jacket is not trying to do more that he is suppoused to do. Maybe that's why we don't see them communicate and why the Hooker never asks you questions like "where have you been" sort of questions after you finally enter your apartment after massacaring the entire ♥♥♥♥ing mafia. Consider her like an inspector. One day, she ♥♥♥♥ed up. She ♥♥♥♥ed up real bad, and things start to get clearer for Jacket. He returns to his apartment after his daily dose of russian blood only to find out Hooker (AKA INSPECTOR) is dead. Ritcher killed her. He killed here because she ♥♥♥♥ed up. Now Jacket is mad, and is going after the answers. This is why this happens in the end of the game, and not in the middle or the beginning, where you first encounter the Hooker (AKA SNAKE IN THE GRASS).
Well, that's my theory at least, sorry for burning your eyes and hope you had a fun read.

P.S. A philosophical question: was the mask of the hooker (supposdely Don Juan) a metaphore to her wearing a mask?

I agree, this is extremely wicked :p
The face Hooker has when you rescue her doesn't look like being acting; and what do you mean with 'she ***** up'? what do you think she did that pissed off the Janitors so much to send Richter after her?
Keeping your theory of the connection between Hooker and 50 Blessings, I would be more likely to agree with this connection being already broken when you find her, that's why she thinks you gonna kill her, she betrayed the Janitors BEFORE knowing you. But anyways, I'm not very sure...

As for the mask, the name is pretty obvious, refering to romance, but the horse... well, as Don Juan is spanish, may we should translate 'horse' for 'caballo', which in Castilian is used as slang word for heroin, possibly the drug she was injected with when you find her.

♥♥♥♥ it got nothin better to do right now. first of all u find her druged out of her mind and some other bad things are easily assume to have happened to her. the drugs were probably/maybe partialy against her will, either way she probably has a sad background but still deserves saving making her the damsel in distress. now the "spy" theory, while the janitors methods are brutaly enough to see sending one of there own (or at least something like that given the way they employ people) behind enemy lines well knowing the horrible things she will go through,
Robot Cowboy Jan 11, 2013 @ 4:37pm
to spy on just one of the many guys that have been manipulated into working for him. if this was true, they would have put more into the cover art of the game of the girl and the situation of it (despitw the illusive, confusing and mysterious story), its the easily interpreted and appreciated (once again) save the damsel in destress from the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥(which are very obviously ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥) scenerio, its simple and good motivation for anyone with a heart and/or penis.toput some plot twist like that would make make any one any time thaey look at the picture and see
Robot Cowboy Jan 11, 2013 @ 4:52pm
"that ♥♥♥♥♥ the completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥ you over" causing the twist to go heavily unapreciated and leaving the player angry at the game. the way i see it, is that she is that little but of good left in the blind killer that is the player, the way she cleans the house and does girl ♥♥♥♥ that just makes things a little better and easier to live, its a symbol that there is still a chance of returning back a happier and less bloody life, she is essentially the diamand in the rough, and is what makes here important andis why we try to protect her. the way for the janitors to hurt you most is to take away what is most important to you. her life. which is why they they kill here, punishment.

NOW, her and the horse. first of all, the times when u talk to the three poeple in masks, when u talk to one the color of the light changes, the horse is blue, the rooster is yellow and the owl is red. when you speak to them its easy to see there color corresponds to there personality, the horse is well manored kind and generally inteligent, higher morals, the rooster, yellow, is in the middle, does what he has to, the average joe, then there is the owl, red, right off the bat he starts spewwing out aggressive, negative, and generaly unhappy comments nothing that really matters, he appears violant, aggressive so hes obiously represents low moral, evil and insanity
Robot Cowboy Jan 11, 2013 @ 5:17pm
when u talked to them it doesnt seem to be a realist setting or scenario, i think its concious, ass you said that the horse looks like the girl, which as i said i think is the the bit of "good" left in him. the rooster, the first mask you get is the rooster so i kind of always associate the player as the rooster, dispite there being another guy who has the mask, i think he just represents someone like you thats going through something similar to what u are (this game is a huge cluster ♥♥♥♥ of metaphors and ♥♥♥♥) but anyway, the back to yellow, i think it represents you, how you just do normal things not leaning to either side, he just does whats neccessary.
Robot Cowboy Jan 11, 2013 @ 5:32pm
then red owl represnts the SPOILERS IF NOTHING HERE HAS SPOILED ANYTHING YET the janoters, evil morbid cruel brutal methods of achieiving ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up things, dispite them saying they are true patriots and are doing something to fight the russian mafia, is stll ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up as ♥♥♥♥, probly as ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up as the mafia, but the janitors have a bigger influence on your liffe then them which is why i think they represent red instead of the mafia. the girl(blue good) makes u want to go good side while the janitors (red ♥♥♥♥♥) want you to do bad guy ♥♥♥♥. you are caught in middle once you start trying to get answers ( blue) red gets angry. theys see blue (the girl)
Robot Cowboy Jan 11, 2013 @ 5:41pm
start symbolically pulling you away from red bad guy janitor ♥♥♥♥. SOOOO red being red kills blue, kind of eliminating that good from him so they can just him doing red ♥♥♥♥. after she dies ♥♥♥♥ gets crazy, his apartments all ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up, theres blood all over the place, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ zombie peolpe, u basically start tweeking out and flippin ♥♥♥♥ all over the place but aiming it mainly at the janitors but there is some that get in the way. now he nows how much he hates red janitors for killing blue, the girl, so revenge and geting rid of red is logical. some blue remains in him
Robot Cowboy Jan 11, 2013 @ 5:46pm
omg wtf look what you made me do. i wrote a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ essay like thing volentarily. i forgot why im doing this. any way i derped a few times and spelt ♥♥♥♥ wrong and slipped some keys dont cut me for it and dont judge me on this literary monstrousity i have created. it seemed smaller in my head ok.
