Does HM remind anyone else of the movie 'Drive'?

When I first started playing it was the music that I noticed first. Pretty much all of the songs remind me of at least one track from Drive. The soundtrack is a similar electro combined with 80s style, and both the game and movie soundtracks rock. In particular listen to "Tick of the Clock" or "Nightcall", two memorable songs from the movie.

Secondly is the ultra violence, Drive is pretty violent like this game. Obviously a lot of things are violent these days though so this doesn't mean much, but the psychotic space bar finishers on this game really remind me of the elevator scene in Drive. Also you can unlock a hammer which could also be a reference to the Drive hammer scene.

Another similarity is the pink font which is used for the title in Drive, a similar font is used throughout the game. The whole mask thing is also similar to the last scene, although this game expands on the masks and they are a bigger feature here.

Finally, and most obviously, look at some of the jackets you see lying around on the floor, there is a grey jacket with a yellow/gold scorpion, clearly the one the driver wears in Drive! I didn't even notice this one, my brother saw it after I said the game was like Drive. This one pretty much confirmed my theory. After playing the game I also checked out the trailers, one of which is even more like Drive!

The fact that the game is inspired by Drive is pretty much cemented by Nicolas Winding Refn's name being featured in the credits of the game.

I never saw Drive, but I heard it was heavily influenced by Drive, so I watched it on Netflix and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!!! O.e I see it.
