Steam overlay does not work

I enable steam works for the game everytime it asks but I can never access the overlay in game! How can I fix this?

This happens to me as well and sometimes causes the game to crash too.

There was a patch today! Maybe this will make it work!

Still having issues with the overlay. The patch did nothing.

it's working but very low res
