My keyboard stops working?

So i bought this game a couple days ago, first time i played it everything went fine. I stopped playing after i got up to the homeless guy beating me up. The following day whenver i go into "START GAME" my keyboard and mouse stop working after that. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Or is this an issue the devs won't fix or in the progress of fixing?

Trying deleting the keyboard.dat in the game's directory (mine is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\hotline_miami) and relaunching the game. This should restore your keyboard settings.

Sigh, even when i go to "change controls" it gives me the option of "Left stick" then my keyboard stops working. I dunno, now I regret buying this game.

If you've tried using the xbox 360 controller at all, and have turned the controller on in the options menu, then the keyboard and mouse wont work in the game. I found that I'd forgotten to turn the controller off in options and that I was having the same problems as you
