hotline miami launcher

i just bought hotline miami and i cant even play it because it says the launcher stopped working someone please help

Is the launcher actually crashing or does it crash when you click on "Start"?

its actually crashing the same is happening with a couple of other of my games... when ever i click on the icon it just says the launcher has stopped working

What happens when you launch it from your library instead of using the desktop icon?

If you have NVIDIA Optimus or anything that switches between integrated and dedicated graphics, make sure the game runs on the dedicated graphics.

If you haven't or that didn't help, update your graphics driver and try again, it will probably solve the problem.

If you already have latest graphics driver or that didn't work, upload the file "C:\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\HotlineMiami\debug.log" on http://pastebin.com/ or something.

It contains information on what happens when you launch Updated version and could help track down the problem.

Never heard of such an issue before :o
People usually have people when starting Updated version from the launcher, not with the launcher itself. Have you tried verifying the game cache ? (right-click on the game in library -> Properties -> Local files -> Verify integrity of game cache)

If you go into launch options and type "-skip" the game will start whilst the launcer not lauching, hope this helped :)

Then he wouldn't be able to tweak the launcher settings... That's not a real solution.

then whats a good practical way of solving my problem

The good solution would be to understand why your launcher crashes and solve the problem. He won't crash "for no reason", there must be one and I trust we'll find it. Have you tried verifying the game cache as I proposed earlier?

how do i do that because my computer is up to date and is a gaming pc hotline doesnt have that much graphics

It's not a performance issue rather a compatibility issue. Are you on a laptop? What are your graphics card specifications?

yes im on laptop but i dont think its my graphics card because this has been happening with other older games
