Any way to fix the OpenAL sound issue without the installer?
I'm using the GOG version on a company laptop. I can't run any installers so I can't install OpenAL properly, I downloaded openal32.dll and got the game to launch but the updated version has no sound, so I assume there's another component missing. Is there any way of getting that component without the installer?

Please don't do that, downloading random DLLs off the Internet is dangerous. DLLs are EXEs in disguise, and thus might contain invisible viruses/trojans even if they look like they're working correctly.

This is especially important for you since you are playing on a company laptop: I'm sure your IT service would not like that very much...

Anyway, you should try to always get executables and libraries from trusted sources. I would highly recommend you delete the DLL you downloaded from your computer and copy one from another computer where you properly installed OpenAL from either the Steam redistributable:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Steamworks Shared\_CommonRedist\OpenAL\2.0.7.0\oalinst.exe
or the GOG redistributable: http://files.gog.com/support/oalinst.zip

Fixed it, downloaded defopenal32.dll from dll-files.com and renamed it to openal32.dll, then replaced the old one.

I can't run installers, that's why I need the loose DLL's in the first place.

I got that, hence why I recommend you copy a trustable DLL from a working source instead.

Don't have another computer, that's why it's on this one.

Anyway, I think the company's AV would've picked it up. If not, the laptop wipes itself when I restart it so it's fine, thanks for the help.
