Almost unplayable on Mac because of mouse issues -- two mouse cursors, dock appearing, menu bar appearing

This game is almost unplayable for me on Mac (OS X Mavericks, 10.9.4) because of 3 mouse issues that are distracting or prevent correct control.

(1) the system mouse cursor shows up at the same time as the in-game cursor, but often in a different location. this makes it hard to aim and control and is distracting.
(2) when you move the mouse towards the bottom of the screen, the OS X System Dock pops up which slows down the game and messes up the screen, and also eats up mouse events.
(3) Similarly, when you move the mouse to the top of the screen, the menu bar does basically the same thing as the dock.

I've seen some posts about this happening to people before, and some things about fixing it with hot corners, but those fixes only seem to work for older versions of OS X.

If there isn't any way to fix these issues, why is this game for sale on Mac? Does no one play this game on Mac? Why aren't more people complaining about it? Is there a simple fix I don't about?

I'm also suffering from this glitch on mac os x, whereas on win 7 it is perfectly ok. Have no idea how to fix this

Yeah, I just bought it and have the same exact problem. It's really frustrating because you can't look around at what's just out of sight. I thought this would be fixed in a 2 year old game...

I don't have the first problem, but the cursor hitting the edge is manageable if you just keep it under control. Usually you want to keep the cursor close to your character anyway, so it's good practice to do this. I've completed HM twice and it never bothered me.

BTW, with regard the first problem, try holding control and pressing tab to cycle thru programs and selecting HM. I think that might solve the double cursor thing.

I't certainly made the game run well enough for me to complete it. This made the menu bar and the dock disappear. Just don't Option+Tab out of the game or they may return.

Pay attention to option number 3 in the video. Just note that there's an app called HotlineMiamiSteam.app inside Hotline Miami.app. It's the innermost app that you should change the settings for, Hotline Miami.app is just the launcher.

The developers really should release a patch for the Mac version. The game's not that old yet, and it's practically unplayable as it is...

I'm having trouble rebinding keys Mac RMBP fully updated. Middle mouse button doesn't work for me. I'd be more disappointed but only paid $2.
Still would be nice to play through the 3rd screen. Music is great and I'd buy the second one if I could get the issues solved.

I know this is a fairly old post, but since I've struggled with this for the past few days I thought I'd share how I solved it: By turning "Automatically hide / show dock" in the system settings off. It will always show the dock when not in a fullscreen application, however it allowed me to freely use the mouse in fullscreen applications such as HM without it showing the dock when I got too close to the border. So far this seems to have taken care of the cursor problem too. Hope this helps anyone!

This isn't the only Vlambeer game with this bug. Whatever engine they use also affects Nuclear Throne mouse / dock issues on Mac OS X.
