32 bit compatibility with macOS
Recently got this message when i started the game. Any updates/fix on the subject? Thank you.

------------------------------------
32-bit app compatibility with macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 and later
About the transition to 64-bit technology and how it affects 32-bit apps.

State-of-the-art technology is what makes a Mac a Mac. All modern Macs include powerful 64-bit processors, and macOS runs advanced 64-bit apps, which can access dramatically more memory and enable faster system performance. The technologies that define today's Mac experience—such as Metal graphics acceleration—work only with 64-bit apps. To ensure that the apps you purchase are as advanced as the Mac you run them on, all future Mac software will eventually be required to be 64-bit.
Apple began the transition to 64-bit hardware and software technology for Mac over a decade ago, and is working with developers to transition their apps to 64-bit. At our Worldwide Developers Conference in 2018, Apple informed developers that macOS Mojave is the last version of macOS to run 32-bit apps.
While developers optimize their apps for 64-bit compatibility, Apple is notifying customers when they are using an app based on 32-bit technology. This is done via a one-time alert that appears when you launch a 32-bit app. In macOS Mojave, this alert appears once every 30 days when launching the app.

This happened with iphones too. Apple is trying to be "smart" and make the world abandon 32-bit programs. This is good for applications that are continuing to be developed, but videogames and old software never get updated to 64-bit unless the demand is extremely high.
Does the game run? If so, count your days bruv, or don't upgrade your mac past Mojave - the choice is yours.
This game is not going to be getting major updates any time soon, so the only way you'll be playing 32-bit games after Mojave is if you can hack your mac to run it, modify the game in a way that lets the mac play it - or you could install windows/linux via bootcamp or a virtual machine.
Good luck, and think twice before buying an apple product again. This isn't a problem with the game, this is a problem with Apple. half-decade old software, letalone games - shouldnt have to be updated just to fit a criteria set by a company's totalitarian nitpicks.

Also you can try WINE, it allows you to run windows versions of software on MacOS. Install the windows version of Steam under WINE and download hotline from your library. Might take a bit of tweaking to get working though, but thats the last solution i can think of.

Thank you for all the input. I bought this mac on 2012 for programming purposes and now i'm trying to extend its lifespan by adding simple yet amazing games that it can run.. BAM! Got this stupid warning..I'm not fully controlled with the options you recommended to solve the problem but the game(s) are working right now on Mojave 10.14.. My question/concern is; am i going to keep playing these games if i keep this system(mojave) or is it going to stop running them after 30 days? Thank you again.

*I'll buy a better gaming laptop(pc) in future

You are going to be given the warning every 30 days, but the games SHOULD still WORK FINE, unless apple gets more agressive and starts blocking 32-bit access remotely which is unlikely. If you're already on Mojave and want to keep playing then dont EVER update your mac again, and search up online how to DISABLE AUTO UPDATES. If you need the security of your mac being up to date, update it as you normally do and learn how to install bootcamp so you can run WINDOWS or LINUX on your mac for your games.

If you update past Mojave, theres no going back. Mojave is the last macOS to play 32-bit games, unless they get updated to 64 bit by the GAME DEVELOPERS (not apple)

Just be aware that if you don't update you will be exposed to more security risks, but if its just an old computer you use for games and movies or crap like that, you should be fine, just take your personal documents off and dont enter your personal details / credit card on it if you can (try to add credit cards to steam on another computer).

If you accidentally update past mojave or need the security - learn how to bootcamp. if apple took bootcamp away they would probably lose a LOT of sales because a large amount of people who own macs have to use them for windows software at work or college (i'm sure you know that).

Thank you again for all the effort and time to respond me in details. I've turned the auto-update settings to ''OFF'' like you recommended and yes, i won't be using this system anything besides writing some basic reports, playing indie games and watching movies. Thanks for the heads up on being cautious about security breach. I will also check some video tutorials for the ''bootcamp'' on YouTube to figure that out. Thanks again dude! Let me salute you with one of my fav Duke Nukem quotes :) ''I ain't afraid of no Quake''

Peace out
