Character stuck in one direction mid game

I've played the game and cleared probably a bit over half the game, suddenly I'm having problems with navigating the menu and when I finaly get into the game the character is stuck going in one direction (northwest in case it matters). I've disabled the joystick in the notepad, I've pulled my HOTAS and Xbox controller from the PC even though it worked earlier. Any ideas?

Well, if it worked before and it doesn't work anymore, surely something in your configuration changed.

Make sure there aren't any conflicts with other controllers: you can check for controllers in "Control Panel\Set up USB game controllers" (Windows+R -> "joy.cpl"). Unplug other controllers.

If you have installed any virtual device program such as vJoy (which lets you use any device as a fake Xbox controller) it might interfere as well as the game will probably try to use the virtual device instead. Uninstall or disable the virtual devices.

I am a complete idiot, I did not disconnect the rudder pedals and my cat pushed them off axis. Thanks for your time guys.
