Thank you for addressing this, can you let us know a bit more about your setup, since these are new items we would like to see what specific setup you have so we can troubleshoot,
Cheers
GPU AMD Radeon RX 6800, Driver 23.5.2 (latest)
Processor AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core Processor 3.90 GHz
Installed RAM 64.0 GB
Windows 11
Let me know if you need any more information. Thank you!
Thank you for this update, have you been able to run the game with both the CRT and Light Engine settings ? Does having those settings assist with this issue no longer being present?
In the story select menu i dont see any of the pictures, just the "warping" background.
In the game theres a transparent square around every sprite (player, enemy, corpses...).
I also tried to use different graphic options, but its still the same.
(CRT Filter, LightEngine, Fullscreen...)
My Hardware:
AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16 Core
32 GB of RAM
AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT
Windows 11 Home 64Bit
EDIT 19.07.2023:
Ive found out that this error disappears when you are in the upper left corner of the map.
The fog also disappears then. Maybe it has something to do with the fog?

Thank you for this description and bug marker along with your setup. We are still investigating additional fixes for the build and will look to get this going as well.
For Ryzen Users re recommend the new Adrenalin set of Drivers for this game, they seem to fix a majority of graphical issues with the new Update to 23.7.1
Iam using this version of drivers but the issue is still there.
We are looking into optimization of the game for instances such as these, but as we all know PC specs are very hit & miss for certain products.
Would you have another setup that can be tested against for comparison? This might also be a light engine item, so if you can go into settings and turn light engine ON or OFF, to toggle, that might adjust the issue. For now we would need a bit more info in order to try to fix
The LightEngine changes nothing. I also tried different options (FullScreen on/off, LightEngine on/off, CRT on/off, different combinations of these options...) but the issue is still there.
As i said before !!! the bug dissapears when i move in the first level in the upper left corner of the map. Something is changing there... !!! <-- Maybe this can help?
The debug.txt file in the game folder contains the following text:
[0719/063702.442:ERROR:settings.cc(410)] Settings version is not 1
[0719/183352.110:ERROR:settings.cc(410)] Settings version is not 1
[0720/172341.006:ERROR:settings.cc(410)] Settings version is not 1
(Maybe the debug info is from my attempts trying out some solutions. Different DLL versions, compatibility mode and more. But nothing helped yet)
They're two wildly different bugs, but it could be from a common source.
We are still being told by AMD that all Ryzen Users are recommend the new Adrenalin set of Drivers for this game, they seem to fix a majority of graphical issues with the new Update to 23.7.1 or beyond.
We are gearing up to do an update on Construct side to see if that remedies items and the game has been released in China and those players in the Sinosphere have not been seeing anything like this bug.
We will continue to be on the lookout and see if the Construct update can assist with our next v1.3 push in the coming weeks ahead.
