This happen if you uninstalled OpenAL or OpenAL wasn't installed properly by steam, you can find the OpenAL redistribuable at this location on your hardrive :

<steam directory>\SteamApps\common\mercenary_kings\_CommonRedist\OpenAL\2.0.7.0

when trying to install it gets error-sound engine failed to lauch. OpenAL redisrtibutable not properly installed.
I have
1)Unistalled game and tried to reinstall from Administrator's account with Antivirus(Macafee) disabled. still same problem.
2) found another thread on steam-http://steamcommunity.com/app/218820/discussions/0/864977025690613341/
tried manually downloading and other things listed there. still nothing.
3) found this thread tried to install oalinst from the
<steam directory>\SteamApps\common\mercenary_kings\_CommonRedist\OpenAL\2.0.7.0
a window pops up within a second that intallation complete. STILL SAME PROBLEM.

Killing floor,Postal,wolfenstein(2009) who use same OpenAL are working fine.

I have the same problems as everybody. Unable to do anything with that OpenAL thing. Tried to re-install the game, nothing to do. Even the link you gave me doesn't work. Mercenary Kings isn't in my common folders, can't find the OpenAL folder for that...

I searched the web for an hour, and each time there was a link to download that file, it was outdated and couldn't be used. Couldn't you just have an official link that fixes the problem for everyone that experiences it?
