Game won't start
Can someone please help? I just got this game and for some reason I can't play it. As soon as I press "Play" the game just stays in some sort of weird black screen with 4 white lines going through it. (Kind of like a targeting system) The main menu music continues to play, and I've tried waiting for it to see if it will load, but nothing happens. I've also already tried resetting the game a few times and it still happened. Any help for this would be great. Thanks.

Try deleting the local game files, re-downloading it, and restart your computer right afterwords.

OK thanks, but how do I do that? I'm sorry, this seems really dumb for me to ask that. Also, when you click "Play", what should happen?

When you start MK, it should just fade into white with the "[<3] Tribute" logo, then show the title screen with the logo, music, "Press Start" and with King and Emperess running right with two random guns (I swear they're different every time on the title screen)

Although I have no idea how to fix the issue you're having, except for things that have already been said. To uninstall MK to try to reinstall it again, right click it on your Steam Library, and press "Delete Local Game Content" - It should remove and uninstall Mercenary Kings, allowing you to reinstall it, just incase there was an error during the installation.

Hm, well that is very strange that the cutscene didn't commence after I pressed start the first time. That does make me a bit suspicious that something didn't go right during installation. Well I deleted the old one and I'm currently reinstalling it. So hopefully it works fine this time.

OK, well I reinstalled it, but the same problem is still there. Although this time I actually got farther, and I made it to the first level. However, the whole screen was just white and I couldn't see anything. I know I was in the game though because I could hear the stage music and I could shot and such. (Again, not being able to see anything.) Now I think it's some kind of problem displaying it on my computer. Is there anyway to adjust that? I didn't see any video driver options in the menu.

This thread may provide the OpenGL solution that you need:

OK, it could be that I need to get/update my OpenGL. First off, I'm assuming I don't even have it in my PC. It didn't show up anywhere in my Programs List. OpenAL was in there though, it should show up right next to it if I had it right? I'm trying to get Open right now but the OpenGL Extensions site is glitching up now and says my request to download .NET first is "Invalid". Do I need to get .NET? I think the first thread said that it installs .NET4 automaticly. Is that the same program? If it is, I'll just go ahead and instal Open GL.

Again, thank you everyone for your help.

So I installed Open GL Extension, and it said I have OpenGL 2.1. I know that's outdated, but the driver scanner at Intel said this; My device is Intel HD Graphics, a custom device.

"A customized computer manufacturer driver is installed on your computer. The Intel Driver Update Utility is not able to update the driver. Installing a generic Intel driver instead of the customized computer manufacturer driver may cause technical issues. Contact your computer manufacturer for the latest driver for your computer."

Does this mean I can't just get a normal upgrade for my OpenGL?
