Dunno whether the idea is vital or not. What do you think?
And sorry if my post might be considered as sort of thread-stealing. It's just an idea I've got after watching OP screenshot.
Thanks
UPD: And one more thing. Changing screen orientation in my model should be smooth, e.g. by moving screen division border clockwise and counterclockwise. Anyway it shouldn't be instant in order to make it more comfortable.
Single screen is nice also.
First thanks for an awesome game effort. I also would love for the game to have a "hybrid screen" option when the game is played locally co-op. We played it on the television with xbox360 controllers (which worked superfine) but the splitscreens are just a tad to small. It's very discomforting for the eyes... So yeah, a "hybrid screen" a la Metal Slug (what else) would be terrific! Go Dudes!! =)
This much screen wasted for two players is silly. Reminds me of the god-awful Lost Planet 2 split-screen set-up...
Another point to add to this one, is that the game was designed around being able to see a certain amount of things at once. Can you imagine how broken the game would be if you could just enable horizontal splitscreen, and specifically target and hit enemies from outside their vision range?
You would still have to move around some HUD elements, but that shouldn't be too much trouble to do.
There is still a lot of wasted space, but at least you put some more of your precious screen real estate to good use.
That is beautiful.
