Wow, Riot Shield is pretty strong now.
The latest patch added some cool stuff.

Didn't think I'd ever say it but the Riot Shield is very good now.

It doesn't break anymore after X amount of bullets or when you get hit by an enemy.
It now even blocks the "big bullets" from bosses. Not entirely sure how I feel about that one since it pretty much trivializes the awesome boss Titan Trooper has become.

On the other hand, I don't think it really changes how you play against the standard enemies and you're still sacrificing one of the two slots that could be used for rations/med kits, so it might be self-balancing in that regard.

Regardless, I really like it. I think it complements a knife-only playing style perfectly.

There also was semi-recently a big buff to grenades which made a grenadier type of character viable. Big fan of the ability to diverge from the standard run & gun type characters.

New patch made missiles better which I'm grateful for.

C4 is now shown on the minimap which is great.

I'm gonna have to try that now. I always avoided the shield after I realized it broke so quickly. But now I can basically experiment with the knife & shield type, which I always figured would be a lot of fun. I could even stand in front of allies with the shield up, to help keep the team alive (and carry adrenaline in my other slot).

I have yet to figure out how to avoid damage against some attacks (like the violence king's magical snake & dino -- I just need to look up a guide I guess), but the shield will add a lot of tactical options aside from shoot & dodge.

Thanks devs! It's awesome to see a steam workshop game updating relatively often and with solid content additions. I'm looking forward to the next areas! And it pains me that there are awesome guns I cannot have, but I'll see them soon enough. ^_^
