*also you should need a 100+ button keyboard to play this game, if you do yer doin it wrong :P
Someone else will have to answer that. I only played the game with keyboard (I hate controllers so I play everything with keyboard). Plus the friend I was playing the game at doesn't use controllers either.
EDIT: If I remember right (been ages since I played the game, I don't have it myself) you hit the green zone using the reload button again on keyboard. So it should work the same with controller, unless the controller doesn't have reload button in which case I'll just facepalm.
Hmm I think your right, I dont think the controller has a reload button, in this game seems keyboard wins since it has all the buttons and the controller is missing functions of the game.
Well at least they made it so the controller can move the character that is good, maybe someday they can add a reload button if enough people buy the game to fund that kind of development, game seems fun to me, I think people will like it with a keyboard or a controller.
Thank you beary much! I will try this next time playing, I didnt think to try the bumpers! BRILLIANT!
The default reload button (unless you rebind) is RB or R1 if you are using the ps3 controller.
and as mentioned before. You get dmg bonus for reloading on the green. Plus you don't have a milisecond delay to when getting it on the yellow,
You can instantly fire upon pressing the reload on the green.
And for people that clearly have no idea. It is a mechanic inspired/stolen off of gears of war where mastering this mechanic very easily meant life or death in a multiplayer firefight or in a harder difficulty in campaign.
I think this is often missed by all players because of the button assignment all games use the x button, some reason this game uses the right bumper or r1. Playing with keyboard probably makes it easier to understand but on a controller that is a weird spot for a reload button that is used all the time, I mean usually bumpers arent used at all so I didnt bother trying them. Thanks to this thread I learned how to reload and play the game, I hope others also learn how to reload, but its not that important cuz it auto reloads at the end of the bar. Maybe this should be stickied?
I find that excuse a tad whiny. Back in the retro era. You get use to the idea of learning a game, as opposed to this modern day whining of "this game is like this other game" mentality.
Plus it has a key rebind feature. So the complaint is pretty moot.
and errr... wrong. Mastering the reload function makes a huge difference between a best time, a win (since many speed runs are less tactics and more dps war) and a death.
Also very important when trying to quickly control a situation where enemies surround you at later levels and quickly attack in time for that window of vulnerability all bosses and some enemies.
