I also enjoy fast knifes, Freeman is what I use. Been searching for a higher damage fast knife, with no avail.
-Even amongst weapons of same weight, some attack faster than others. While there seems to be some correlation between weight and speed, there might be another factor at play.
-Once you get to a certain level of Atk Speed, you can slash at enemies so fast that you'll start to gain height. You can maintain that height indefinitely. Try it on the training dummy.
-Combining this with a frost knife will sometimes freeze enemies forever because it constantly reapplies the freeze effect. You can kill some bosses in a single cycle that way, without anything boosting your melee ability. Steel Soldier is a good example, as once he opens his cockpit, you can just wail on him. There's a good chance he'll freeze and won't thaw until you've knifed him to death.
Both a fast attack speed and freezing effect are found on the Resistance Knife (IIRC), I haven't looked to find other cases yet.
