No Gwesky, effects are set in the track you wanna have them on, can have muliple effects on one track/ instrument, including automization etc. i foten have 5 ore more effects/eq/compressor etc on each track...
seperate tracks are what they are supposed to be: seperate tracks, so no... effects won´t take away from the ammount of tracks you can use for instruments, audio recordings, or loops.
just btw: i don´t know if you can have additional take-tracks within one track as you can in the other versions...but if so, 16 is not really the max you can have ;)
mx is very powerful if you look deeper under it´s "music faker" hood.
