After defeating boss (finished the game)
So I am playing game right now after I beat boss and it seems to be an "endless" without any way to finish run, running down never did anything (water) and running up do not do anything as well right now. WHY is that? :D maybe add something to game that make you for example go to another part of the wall when player finished mining current wall from resources as it would be a endless survival then ;)

i think unlike dome keeper with maxed out bomb thrower or the lazer machine gun you will be pretty much invincible while in dome keeper you will die its just matter of time...

Even if they spam infinite waves of enemies at the end if you are with endgame gear they cant touch you... all ranged enemies are useless because they will never hit you all the mele enemies are too easy to take out.

But yeah seems like wasted 2 hours after you defeat the boss there is no point playing further...

I just cleared the map looking for the last schematics I needed (post finishing the game) but there's no way to end the run without quitting? Will I lose everything I just got? 3 schematics and tons of the meta currency to finish upgrading. Trying to get the last achievement for all upgrades (The Hope That Kills You).

I agree. You should be able to leave your spider right up north. The end screen would be you leaving the spider and hopping on to solid land, disappearing in the woods, or something. The dev could even add a little dialogue between you and the girl once you get back in the menu screen again, explaining to her that you've taken another walk in this new-found land. It could even contain a small reference to an upcoming update or even sequel to the game, who knows. Either way, this way the game would have a way for the player to end the run succesfully and feeling like he won the game by pressing the 'r' button at the very north of the wall. Right now you have to press escape and click 'Quit game', which feels like you've given up on the run and given up.

You can quit safely, is just like you finish the game or die, you keep all of them.

The End was a little bit disappointing, too. I found the last key, activated the core, killed the boss and come to the top of the wall and in the last dialogue she only mentioned the last key. Nothing about the waterline, nothing about the activated core, nothing about the plateau? Hm...

Yeah, I was wondering about that, actually. Perhaps it's because we both did both things in the same run: Get the last key and defeated the boss.

Perhaps if you get the key in one run you will get the dialogue we saw, and then if you kill the boss in the next run, you'll get another dialogue. Perhaps we just skipped the second dialogue.

Can anyone disprove of confirm this?

After the following runs there was never a additional dialogue, so I think, you're right. It feels like get softlocked right before the end.

I really enjoyed the game, but the end just seemed very lacklustre, which is a damn shame. I mean what was the whole point in the creatures/boss n what about all the computer messages etc. Maybe a dlc to fix these gaps in the story in a potentially otherwise good game

The game is pretty good. It's also a fraction of the cost I would have expected. The real challenge for me is starting a new save file and seeing how few runs I can finish in. It's pretty cool.

when did this happen for you? I finished a run yesterday finding 3 keys and the core in a run and I think she went through all the dialog... I think

Yesterday I found the last fifth key and had some seconds before the finishing timer ends, so I runned to the core, activated it and won the run. After that the runs are endless as described by Wojmistrz above.

I didn't finish the game in the same run that I found the last key on.
But even then there is no dialog after finishing the game.
So, no worries, you didn't miss anything.

I also wished for a little bit more of an ending.
Maybe this is a "it's about the way, not about the goal" sort of thing ^^

Thank you! :)
Maybe the end find it's way into the game with a patch or expansion.
"it's about the way, not about the goal" Indeed it is. The reason of this thread irritated me hardly, but I'm enjoyed it all the time, the gameplay is good, music and graphics very nice and with this price it's a nobrainer.
