How to unlock jump/emergency safe?

Hey, I apologize if I'm missing something obvious, but I've beaten the base game and just started the DLC. How do you acquire the currency that unlocks the jump button/emergency safe? (The safe and jump module both cost "1" of whatever currency this is.)

It generates like any other ore, basically.
There's a small catch; as far as I've seen, each block of it only gives one unit.

What is the single currency (red with a white center) that you need and at what stage can you mine it. It would be nice if when you try to buy something it actually told you what resource you was missing. Thanks for any help.
