You have probably figured it out by now, but it comes in a box in your spider. Suck it up, bring it to the mine, drop it.
With enough upgrades, it clears entire mines.

Jesus, it sure had me fooled. I just started laughing at the bomb every time I picked it up, never bothered to upgrade. Then again, everything in this game gets insane when you upgrade it enough.
