Ok, I give up. I am playing the base game. I've reached the top Leviathan several times, which has a giant eye, shoots an undefendable laser, and kills instantly. What needs to be done so that your spider doesn't die on the first shot? Or better yet, how to dodge the laser? The eye remains locked at the same height as the spider and it's no use jumping up or down.

I hope we are talking about the same thing but you should see a dome-looking building the background of that fight.
This building has 5 little "sockets" that you can fill with some items.
Once you collect those 5 items and go back there; something different will happen than you getting a Game Over

Thank you for this clarification. I realized some of those light spots or whatever turned on, but not all. But I don't know which items. Well, I will keep trying.

I wish I remembered what exactly those looks like but it's the only kind of item that you find randomly while drilling and it doesn't serve an immediate purpose.. (I think green-ish color?)
And I also think you can see how many you have total in the "garage" screen while looking at your upgrade somewhere around the girl it should say 2/5 or something.. I'm sorry but my memory is really brrr

But yea in any cases just keep playing and you'll get those 5 ^^

I'll try not to spoil too much, but since you're asking, you can see how many of those items you collected both during game, and in the "garage".
At right bottom corner you get an icon with the green item (crypto keys they are called), and the number you've collected. Once it says 5, it's safe to reach the top.
