1440p Broken?
Anyone else notice that the sprites look worse when playing at 1440p vs 1080p? On 1080p, they look more blurry but smoother, and on 1440p, they look pixelated

Yep. You're right, looks like 1440p is broken.

i wonder if its just apollo justice its broken, I would assume it would be ok in the 3d games

yup AA4 at 1440p does not look fine at all. 5 and 6 look good though

ok i watched DF review AJ is drawn at 1080p on all versions and scaled up to 2K/4K with nearest neighbor i wouldnt say its broken just the art is drawn at 1080p
we will have to wait for a mod that will use better scaling probably will be bundled with frame rate mod when it releases since nearest neighbor is bad in general

Came to the boards to post this. In the first Apollo Justice 1440p the sprites have pixelated edges and 1080p is smooth. My monitor doesn't do 4k but I assume that would be fine too since it'd be uniformly scaled.

800p is also really bad in the first game. The game looks like it's the 3DS version instead of the drawn sprites.

You could probably fix this by using the Steam Deck's Linear or FSR upscaling filters (if you're on Steam Deck, which I assumed since you mentioned 800p)

EDIT: Nah I'm stupid. But you could run the game at even LOWER resolutions to get the DS experience

Yeah I am, Linear is set by default here. I'll try using FSR.

UPD: Just tried it, and it didn't make any difference whatsoever. Waiting for a proper fix instead of Magpie.

I found a fix for the Steam Deck and similar handhelds using Linux with Steam's game mode.

Set 1080p in game properties in Steam's game mode and in the game's settings. The game will be properly downscaled to 720p.

The reason this works is because Gamescope supports downscaling. You won't be able to play in the Desktop mode like that though.

Is there a way to translate this?

For me the resolution on steam deck is locked to 1280x720. I cannot select any other resolution options. You're able to?

Go into the game's "Properties" and set "Game Resolution" to 1920x1080, then restart the game and you should be able to set the in-game setting to 1920x1080

Okay I translated it and it makes the game look amazing!

1. Download the software here: https://github.com/Blinue/Magpie
2. Open the game, change to windowed and 1080p.
3. Open magpie and click default profile, scaling mode to Anime4K, then win+shift+a to scale.
