Screen for Scribblenauts is STILL black upon startup.
I purchased Scribblenauts unlimited and I have gone through every possible thread and fixed any minor detail that could possibly be making it not function correctly. I updated steam I checked to make sure my computer met the requiremnets for the game and I still don't understand why it's not working. When I open the game it loads and I can hear the music the screen flickers to black, then white, then back to black. I waited for a good hour thinking it may just be slow upon startup but I was wrong. So I have tried to fix the error myself but it seems I'm missing something that may not be posted in the threads. Some assistance would bring me joy. =) Thankssss.

Hmm...I wonder. The game forces monitor refresh to 60hz because for whatever reason they based game speed on monitor refresh like early DOS games based it on cpu cycles.

Anyway, the flickering you are experiencing. I wonder if this could be caused by your monitor not supporting the refresh. Is it possible to test another monitor?

It may not even be that. Sometimes it just goes straight to black and doesn't flicker at all. I can hear the music and everything but the images never show up even after waiting awhile. :( I don't happen to have another monitor but my friend has the same computer as me and it works fine on hers. D:

I see. If it works on a computer the same as yours, that makes me think it's either the startup timing issue
(http://steamcommunity.com/app/218680/discussions/0/846938351174566711/)
, although so far that usually locks before the window is created or possibly a process on your pc that is conflicting with the game.
For troubleshooting I would probably start with comparing processes in task manager to the duplicate pc that works and killing any on the non-working pc that don't match. If that is feasible.

Yes I looked at that thread before and I tried it but the only problem I am seeing is the CPU doesn't ever just settle on one number meanwhile the threads stay on 11. After awhile of waiting and the numbers never stopping I pulled up windows media player and checked and it was still a black screen. So is there way to fix that? Isn't the threads supposed to stay at 6? Mine says 11 and the thread says there should be 6.
Yea, probably not the same problem if you have 11 threads. One odd thing is I don't think my game has ever gone beyond 7 threads, even after the game is running.

At this point I can't think of solutions except for wild speculation. Could still be a timing issue; Maybe pay around setting process priority on either Steam.exe, Scribble.exe, devldr32.exe in different orders as soon as the Scribble process appears to try and shake out some timing issues. Compare processes on your pc with your friends working one. Change monitor resolution. Reinstall. Update every driver you can think of.

Oh also I didn't ask before. By your friend having same computer do you mean the same monitor as well? Otherwise, that brings the refresh explanation back to the table :).

Sorry, don't have much more to offer. Maybe the 11 threads showing means something to the devs?

Yes same monitor. I'll do that then. I also asked some others so hopefully I'll get it worked out soon. -_- If not it's literally $30 down the drain and I'm not letting it go to waste. xD Thank you. :)
