Kasballica Rep Requirements for Colony Projects
Specifically I am talking about Dark Sages with its 35Kish Kasbaliica rep requirement. Nothing else comes close to that. I am assuming this is a mistake and will eventually be balanced, but perhaps I am missing something?

i don't think so, some colony projects just have a high price but trust me on this, The Capella Biologis is worth ALOT more than Dark Sages, you're trading Seeker of the weak which you can manage without for chirurgeon kits which are great for removing traumas (removes 2 at a time) and healing and you'll never run out of them cause every idk 3 or 4 warp jumps you check Janus on the colony tab and you'll get 5 of them

and i forgot to mention each chirurgeon kit can be used twice

I just want to know why their rep requirement is off the charts compared to the rest. 35K for something that is a tier 2 colony project...next highest from another faction is like 20K?

edit: Also in earlier versions of the game the Dark Sages and Capella Biologis projects were jacked up and they 'fixed' them but left in the crazy faction requirement?

I believe that the faction rep requirements are intentional. Some projects are intended to be reserved for people who have invested heavily in the corresponding faction. By chapter 4 you shouldn't have any trouble passing any one of the thresholds, even the 35K for Kasballica, if you choose to focus that faction early on.

If you started the game spreading around your rep gains evenly, and didn't notice some of the high requirements until later, then you might get locked out of a project that you want. That will probably be annoying, but shouldn't prevent you from finishing the game.

There is a quite high requirement one for the Void Pirates as well, last tier in one of the colonies that gives you the pistol reload on kill gloves. 37k IIRC.

Honestly given how plentiful excellent gear for every party member is in the game not being able to finish any of the factions shops because you spread out will not actually negatively impact you significantly. The most crucial gear is found in the rep 12-25 range which is quite easy get. And given the insane gear you find and loot a lot of the end rep gear seems more for fluff then anything.

I mean you casually pick up a armor piercing 40% hot shot las just by going to the tropical planet, assuming you build for that it will carry you to the end game with frightening easy thanks to it ROF 4 and how you can absolutely abuse perks to increase damage when using burst fire attacks.

There's at least 3 very good bolters that can be had in act 2 that can also carry you for most of the game. Stand outs include imperial pride which if you help the station in once the plagued section opens up can be picked up in a chest, perfect for Argenta for most of the game.

And that's easy from the heavy stubbers you just gind, and the regular heavy bolter that requires very low rep from the faction offering it.

Yeah I am not speaking to the gear here. That is a separate topic, I think itemization is a huge problem in the game, for lots of reasons.

My post was just about why this particular faction has such an egregious rep requirement for a tier 2 colony project. It does not make sense to me.

There is a project later that requires 50K+ Drusian rep, there is another one where the Navy rep requirement is so high I couldnt hit it by the end of the game even though the stuff for the navy is not traded by any other faction so you cannot "spread too thin" - all the while I had a 200 hour completionist run, so its not like I skipped any major loot drop

I didn't realise until the end-game that i had a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of navy rep gear in my normal loot, i think in the 6th tab that after the 'quest' items. Maybe check that, i had more than enough to max out the faction once i realised that.

Navy Rep is its own thing and since no other faction competes for the drops Navy wants, it does not really make sense to discuss that rep with the other four. It is strange how space combat drops show up in your inventory and have to be manually moved to cargo but again I would say that is a separate discussion from this one.
