Am I missing something here? There's a hint about a heat signature leading deeper into the macropole, and a door nearby with an action symbol but it can't be opened.

Yeah, just got to this myself and have no idea. I gave up after exhausting all the other options including the bodies.

After reading up on various places in act 4, I'm convinced this is yet another bug. I now see why people say buy these games a year after launch. The rep is well earned. Still going to play it, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is this buggy.

As much as I think it's too short, I believe the scout that starts the quest dies unless you rush towards him after the cutscene. I reset and did that and he was alive, while originally the enemies were spread around differently and he was dead.

Yes you need to rush and then baby sit in the ensuring battle. Still cannot get through the locked door.

So from what I found out so far, Owlcat forgot to either add the interact buttons leading to the subareas or scrapped those areas just before the 'full' release, as after testing and working around with toybox, there are 2 or 3 subareas that you should get access too (perhaps with the condition partially being to save the scout):

Also so I make it easier for myself I will shorten SantielsPride to SP and Underhive to UH

The area entry teleport of toybox names the place where you rescue the other scouts 'SP_Surface_FromUHSecret' while the area further down (bottom right of the map =other xenos encounter/camp is the 'SP_Surface_FromUHMain'.
Teleporting to 'SPUH_MainEnter' leads to a small combat encounter, while 'SPUH_HiddentEnter leads almost directly to a survivor's camp; These 2 teleport nodes are in the same area, so I believe that Owlcat wanted people to delve into the subareas even if unable to save the surface scouts. The followup areas seem to be correctly attached, but I will have to see after reloading a previous save where I didn't teleport around and sequence broke stuff.


Should really have waited with buying the game in hindsight, but oh well...

This isn't a bug, it was an area that wasn't completed at the time of release and was thus cut from the retail version. It's possible that it may be completed and added in a later update or DLC but currently it is only accessible via mods like ToyBox. If you do wish to access it, be aware that there quests lines in the area or not fully built and cannot be completed.

Yes quest don't trigger in that area. And shouldn't because it wasn't finished.

I just played this. If you kill the scout or let him die then you just wander around killing xenos and that's it. If you save the scout you get a little quest called Saving the Doom to follow him, at the end of which are some survivors. Once you deal with them the quest completes. It still seems obvious they intended more for this world but as of right now there's a perfectly fine self contained little quest... so long as you help the scout.

The quest, as far as I looked on toybox was larger and got to make it in the underground and save some people and deal with our pal Tervintius labratory.

Man i really wish they had finished it...or that they would finish it going forward. I HATED the dark eldar in the absolute best way, like you're supposed to, like the game makes you want to..and would have loved more excuses to go after one of their labs. Thanks for posting the codes, might just toybox to clear out those fights just out of spite against the Knife Ears. ;) Games shouldn't be released if they aren't done.... should be a rule or something. This game is so good, but it would be easily better than BG3 if it had JUST been finished and balanced out T.T . LIterally, they would be more deserving of the awards BG3 won in my opinion than Larian was, if they had just finished off the unfinished questlines, fixed up the major bugs, and balanced/tweaked the game to not be too hard or too easy in certain spots.

Edit: hmm...cant seem to figure out how to do that teleport to location thing.... i see the pointer teleport in toybox. There a trick to it?

Ok...i've played through most of the underhive area, it seems as though its almost done honestly. Its got quests that function, it has doors and melta charge placements. It needs some of the skill checks to have their difficulty numbers set, needs some switch activation triggers set (you can turn the power on but the power never turns on for the deactivated switches thus preventing you from advancing without teleporting over the doors) but the quest stuff seems mostly....good if unpolished. There are even items to be had, some storyline, lots of items (one of which is actually pretty nice piece ive never seen before for a psycher), and xp. There's at least 2 extra, separate sections attached you can enter beyond teleporting (hive depths, xenolab, cannibal sanctuary, maybe more...), a whole bunch to see and kill, npcs to talk to with names and voices and plenty of text written (only found like 2 without names set yet and they were just "thanks for rescuing us!" basically). I'm surprised they havent just finished it, ive seen teams finish a section from this level of completion in a matter of days. It should be noted that the goal items, the "rewards", so to speak, of killing the boss fights in the area dont really exist (theyve got a placeholder of an axe in one and a dagger in another), but i don't need them. i'm in it for the experience.

It’s not a bug. It’s the door directly west of the crashed shuttle outside that’s blocked by ice and corpses. The southern entrance is accessible from outside IF you clear the ice first. If you go down the shuttle first, you’ll find both exits blocked.
